~ Appreciation and Support ~

Thank a Servicemember There's a great deal of debate in the country about whether America should go to war in Iraq. The right to dissent is a fundamental freedom of America, and MOAA doesn't take positions on operational military issues. But we're very troubled when a minority of dissenters do such things as castigate the President as a "greater threat than Saddam Hussein" or when teachers in public schools deride children of servicemembers or those who are enrolled in JROTC programs, as we've seen in a couple of recent media reports. Our servicemembers take an oath to obey their leaders and they serve when and where their country calls. We'd like to think that even those who disagree with the Administration's policy on Iraq would recognize the need to show support for those who are sworn to protect our liberties and our national interests. In addition to helping MOAA protect their interests in Congress, we hope you'll take a moment of your day to send a note of thanks to a member of the military.
